Pets Welcome
The rear wall is around 1.1m with a long drop behind it, off-putting for most dogs. For scale, Bailey stands at 24" at the shoulder.

Pets welcome? Not just welcome...adored! And at no extra charge.
Bailey's Barn is built for you and your dogs to enjoy all that the Peak District National Park has to offer. You can walk directly from the barn and just a few metres away is a network of footpaths including The Limestone Way. The pubs in the village are dog-friendly too.
Back at the barn, the floors are laminate for easy care and the walls are washable, especially in the 'shake zone' near the door. Dog towels are provided and bedding too, if you need it. There is a spectacular food bowl which I could not resist when I saw it at Crufts and several stainless steel bowls for food or water.
People often ask how many dogs they can bring. We've suggested two as Bailey's Barn is cosy in size. But if you have a look and decide you can fit in more, just let us know!
Outside the barn is an enclosed courtyard with a gate onto the road; you can bolt this gate from the inside. The courtyard wall heights vary but the lowest is around 1.1-1.2m.
Pet safety
If your dogs are the exploring type be aware that the stone courtyard walls could be climbed by determined and motivated escapologists! To help avoid this please either supervise your dog or use one of the two secure metal hoops attached to the barn and a long line which leaves your pet safely attached but able to explore.
The road is quiet but used by an hourly bus as well as farm vehicles and refuse lorries. Please keep the front gate closed and be aware that visitors to Bell House may leave it open. Please check before you let your pet out.

Wood burning stove
Is your dog a dopey doo-dah that likes to lay too close to the fire? I've had two dogs like that and I am sure they singed themselves more than once. If you need to borrow a fire guard to keep your furry nutcases a bit further away from the stove, please let us know.
Local farms
There are few sheep here, but plenty of beasts. Check each field before you enter and if there are signs requesting dogs to be on leads please comply with them.
Poo bags
There is a poo disposal bin a few metres from the door of the barn, just around the corner. Very convenient for dog owners!
Great walks
We've lived here since 1992 and know the footpaths and dog friendly routes, there are maps in the barn of the region and very nearby locale too. We can advise you where it is possible to let your dogs off lead.
Have a great visit!
